Off the beaten track, with plenty on your doorstep. Bring the family, the dog, the walking boots or the wetsuit; most of what you'll want to do starts within a few minutes of the door.
Gillan Cove sits on the South West Coast Path, so coast and waterside walks start at the door, from a gentle half-hour loop to a full day along the coast. Nare Point, pictured, is the headland to walk out to for the full sweep of coastline. Great for dog walkers, and no car needed.

The protected cove is ideal for kayaks, paddleboards and sailing, with help close by for launching anything bigger. Calm, sheltered water to set out from at your own pace.
A protected cove opening to the sea, and a swimmer's paradise. Stay close in the sheltered water or strike out into the deep, whatever the day calls for. The beach is a stone's throw from the door, with Flushing Beach just round the corner.
Close to the beach and a safe, protected cove, with plenty of space to play: in the garden, on the patio and decking, or down on the sand. Easy to fill a day, easy to do nothing at all.
The house sits above the cove looking out to sea, with treetops filling the view inland. From the decking it feels almost sub-tropical. Add the cedar sauna and the quiet garden, and it's a place to properly slow down.
Mullion Golf Club runs along the cliffs of the Lizard Peninsula, 18 holes on National Trust land with the sea below you most of the way round. Under 30 minutes by car from the house.
